Elder Holland's CES Devotional

I just finished watching Elder Holland's CES Devotional and I just want to say that if you have not watched it, you should. You can access it on lds.org and it currently is being displayed on the main page. Watching this made me realize how lucky I am to have such easy access to so many church materials. The broadcast happened on Sunday and already I can read it, watch it, or listen to it online. It really is incredible. I remember we used to have to record programs like that onto VHS's. We have come a long way!
Holland is always an incredible speaker and again he spoke with a power and passion that went straight to my heart. I always look forward to his conference talks and love the spirit that I can feel when he speaks. He is not afraid to say what the saints need to hear. This talk specifically talked about moral agency, compassion and discipleship. He talked about how our time is a time to stand and fight against Babylon instead of fleeing like it was commanded in the past. He quoted, "Israel, Israel, God is calling."  He told a story of a spectator at a sporting event saying that "You should leave your religion at the door." Holland said powerfully and passionately that no disciple of Christ should ever leave his religion at the door.
This media really affected me this week and I am grateful that I was exposed to this uplifting and inspiring media. Media truly can be a force for good when we use it in correct ways. It can make us want to be better people, just like this devotional made me want to be a better person.

The link to the video of the Devotional is below. It's a must-watch!

  2. I agree that this devotional was awesome! I also agree that we are very blessed to have such easy access to this type of media. I am especially greatful for the technology we have once General Conference rolls around. We have access to the audio files, video files, and PDF files of conference talk within weeks of their original air date. We are so lucky! Hooray for positive media!
